Okay so Nasi Lemak 2.0 have just release so let me talk a bit about this movie! This Nasi lemak 2.0 is a movie that can only be understand by people who live in Malaysia and understand at least a little about what going on in Malaysia politic! So let me be very honest about this! If you are those racist people who hate name wee please don't go and watch this movie cause you'r paying a trip to hell! But if you are someone who want to know what the meaning of 1Malaysia please buy yourself a ticket to watch it!
The story itself is quite good and it bring a lot of meaning out of it! Such as Chinese Malay and India could live together as friend and family! There even a malay aunt who take a Chinese girl as god daughter!
I'm giving a rating of 9.5 / 10 for the movie! Is a low budget movie not more than RM1million so what could i expect from a low budget movie? Since is below RM1mil movie yet it still so good i'm very proud of namewee itself! but i think this movie could hit the top office box in the next few days. All the actor is really good at acting and the most important thing is so freaking hilarious and it just so fun to watch with your family and friend.
At first there a scene where the people and aunt who are selling nasi lemak is angry about Hero Huang ( Name wee) about him accusing that nasi lemak is a dirty and non hygiene food to eat!
When Hero Huang ( Name Wee ) lost his business, a old lady treated him to eat a small pack of nasi lemak which make him determine to learn making the world best nasi lemak and there it started all the journey to 3 place to learn to make the world best sambal , kari and lastly he went to a village where he meet a fisherman who talk about why he move back to his hometown from kl and talk about malaysia people feeling.
This scene talk about Hang Tuah ( Han tu ya ) regarding what race he is and what he look like. But in the movie it explain why should we care what race and what image he have! As long as we know he is our malaysia local hero isn't that more than enough ?
For myself i bought 6 ticket to watch with my family member and my girlfriend! We all laugh through the whole movie! It a great movie to spend your time with your family because is so hilarious! It not only bring out the awareness of what happening in Malaysia toward the younger generation but it also provide a very deep and meaningful message to all his audience, one of my friend told me that is seldom to find such a good movie because Malaysia movie usually isn't that smart!

I love to see comedic actors do a serious role. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Stranger Than Fiction are actually my favorites from those two actors. I admit I'm more of a comedic type, but the fact that they did them so well and so convincing I think made them my favorites.

ReplyDeleteuseless movie...how you can overate this movie when it is not near to 2 over 10...seriously you guys are just too blind...less concept of 1 malaysia and mindless comedy...two thumbs down...
ReplyDeleteHave the potential to be really good but ran out of steam halfway sadly. Plot needs more depth and direction. If he wants to emulate certain formulas in the movie, at least make it original not copying it entirely.
